[MOD][ICS] JKay Deluxe framework 14.1 - XWLPI/G/F/D/9/8/7,XXLPW, UHLPS [2012-7-18]

Purpose: Speed up access to settings and applications. Beautiful battery icon. Stay true to original design. Small, simple, fast without battery drain. How I think Samsung should have made it!
It only needs a supported rom (odexed or deodexed) and a kernel with CWM support.

Please read the install instructions that can be found in the post.
And please read the FAQ in 3rd post before posting bugs or questions!!

JKay Deluxe framework v14.1 contains the following default features
* added the 'Remove all' button to Recent app list view
* added support for screen rotation lock (when auto-rotation quick toggle is off)
* replaced the holo background with hires version
* removed accuweather lock screen icon
* fixed $1 $2 in all plurals.xml !
* fixed Skip track (handles volume twice!)
* fixed the SystemUI cam flash FC !
* fixed Home button long press flash on issue
* fixed IndexOfOutBounce Exception on Phone options dialog (airplane and data mode)
* fixed auto brightness conflict issue in SystemUI

JKay Deluxe framework
The Deluxe framework is a modified version of the original android framework made by Google and Samsung. Five files have been extended: Settings.apk, SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk, Ext.jar and Android.Policy.jar

Installation instructions:

Find the framework that matches your PDA:
To find your PDA version call *#1234# and write down the value next to PDA:
Odexed or Deodexed?
If you use a stock Samsung rom then your phone uses an odexed framework so select odexed. Custom roms are usually deodexed.
Odex means Optimized Dalvik Executable. Deodex means that it is no longer optimized. Here the dex file is included within the application itself (the classes.dex file).
Deluxe framework version 14 can be found here (Find the Deluxe framework that matches your PDA):

Download the new Deluxe framework and put it on your SD card.
Also download the Restore file for your phone and put it onto your SD card.
Use this restore file in case you want to uninstall the JKay Deluxe framework.

The Deluxe framework can be installed using CWM (ClockworkMod Recovery). CWM is a recovery system like Samsungs original recovery system but CWM allows third-party updates to be installed onto your phone!

An CWM update zip file exists that can be temporary installed using Samsungs original recovery. This means that neither a custom kernel nor root is required to install JKay Deluxe framework!
There are also kernels with CWM included but here we will use this CWM to install the JKay Deluxe framework.

How to install Deluxe framework using CWM

CWM can be found at http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
A copy of CWM zip can be found at http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?op3oj8810m0oudj

1) Put the CWM.zip on your external SD card
2) Power off your Phone
3) Hold down the 3 buttons: Volume-up, Home and Power
4) Release all 3 buttons button when logo is shown on the display and recovery menu will show
5) Press volume down to ‘apply update from external storage’
6) Press power button to select
7) Use volume down to find the CWM.zip
8) Press power button to select it
9) CWM will be installed and ClockworkMod Recovery menu will show
10) Press on the screen ‘ – install zip from sdcard’
11) Press on ‘choose zip from sdcard’ if Deluxe framework file is on internal sd
Or press ‘choose zip from internal sdcard’ if framework file is located on external sdcard
12) locate the Deluxe framework zip file and press it to install it
13) Take note that there are no errors while installing it!
14) Press ‘- go back’ and press ‘- reboot system now’
15) Done!

Q: I'm running PDA version XYZ, Can you make it for my phone?
A: I will make this for all odexed and deodexed I9100 running pda XW??? and XX??? roms. Next up is XWLP7, XWLP8, XWLP9, XWLPD

A: The Deluxe Settings Apk can be found on GooglePlay or on SlideMe

Q: How do I install this
A: Flash a kernel that support CWM like CF kernels

Q: My Theme is gone!
A: JKay Deluxe contains new icons for the Quick Settings panel and the Phone Options dialog therefore
these icons have been included into SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk. JKay Deluxe stock mod contains
stock Samsung icons (plus the new icons I have made in the same stock style).

Q: Why is the status only transparent on the lockscreen and why....
A: I selected these default settings because they are what I see as safe selections...
By that I mean the mod does not remove any features!! It only adds features and it still look good! Center clock does not look good if you have too many status bar icons! Transparent status bar does not always look good... it depends very much on the background! The home button quick fix removes the double click function!! And maybe someone needs that feature!! I have enabled fast double click though!! that's 350 ms instead of 500 ms The quick launch panel is setup in Deluxe Settings so I could not easily add that as default.. The Reboot function was removed from Phone dialog as is really not needed and its available from the quick settings panel. Then 100-100 battery icon was choosen instead of original battery and text because then themers can then change it to their own favorite battery..

[MOD][ICS][XPOSED] Tweakbox: no-flashing tweaks collection (1.3)(04.07.2012)

Maybe you have read about project called "Xposed", maybe not. In short, it is a framework that can be used to create modifications without touching the APKs, which in turn means that nothing needs to be flashed and the modifications can be compatible with many different ROMs.

Here comes a collection of small to medium tweaks that make use of this framework. All in one app, with options to configure them individually.
The following tweaks are currently implemented:

  • Statusbar
    • Number of bars for signal strength indicator (Samsung only)
    • Background color. Looks weird actually because most apps aren't made for this.
    • Clock color
    • Toggle "switch input method" notification while typing text
  • CRT
    • CRT off effect
    • CRT on effect
    • CRT landscape detection
  • Battery
    • Levels for critical/low battery warning
    • Disable Samsung's "100% charged, unplug me now" notification
  • Phone
    • Vibrate on Call Wait
    • Increasing Ringer Volume
    • Call Recording
    • Built-in SIP
  • Miscellaneous
    • Don't turn on the screen when unplugging from USB/AC
    • Choose long HOME key behaviour (do nothing, classical/icon-only, new/thumbnails). Just sets a switch, the implementation has to exist in the ROM.
    • Skip tracks with a long press on the volume up/down key, ported from here (only when screen is off)
  • Experimental
    • Fake 240 DPI for Play Store
The colors can be picked with an extended version of the color picker made by attenzione@GitHub. This gives you the chance to select any RGB color plus the transparency - steplessly!

About:

This is a project based on Sboulema's work and inspired by some other mods here on xda like Vertumus's ICS Domination. I wanted to integrate everything I liked into one mod. It uses VillainTheme's Flasher for safe and simplicity. It auto create backups in case something goes wrong

It's always tested against Wanam's ICS themed releases.. greatest ROM for SGS II.

As of now it only works on Sammy roms but I will release this layout for CM9 / AOKP to those who want it.

Note: I'm not responsible if something goes wrong

[MOD][ICS][BROWSER]99 tabs, Faster Tab Animation, 6 User Agents

For those who tired of "Can't open a new window until you close one.", this mod will give you the ability to open unlimited (actually it's 99) windows.

Not only that, I've reduced the zoom out tab animation duration, making it to be faster.

There is also an user agent switching option in the advanced settings, giving you 6 options of user
agents.



 

Requirement:
Any ROMs that are based on Samsung ICS ROM

How to install:
1. Reboot to CWM
2. Flash

Known issue:
There won't be 99 tab indicators when you have 99 tabs because it does not fit the screen.
As shown in the pics above, in portrait mode, max tab indicators are 11. While in landscape mode, max tab indicators are 18.

The new Touchwiz UX launcher was ported from Galaxy S3 to our GS2.
Try it and give me feedback, there are some things to fix but it' s look very nice and smooth

[PORTED] [BETA] Samsung Galaxy S3 launcher now for ALL ICS ROMS
Thanks to Steve0007  successfully ported the launcher for all ICS ROMS. Unsure about gingerbread, someone could give it a try and see how that works. Copy to system/app folder or just install as a user app , it doesn't make a difference.
Something that PoorCollegeGuy pointed out to me is that PaWill started this, even though I didn't know about it so thanks to PaWill for starting this, this is my work but PaWill started this whole idea.
TO ADD WIDGETS, COPY TO SYSTEM/APP, CHANGE PERMISSIONS TO RW/R/R, then install again as usual, then press home, and Widgets will work. DO NOT CONVERT TO SYSTEM APP, MANUALLY COPY IT TO SYSTEM/APP CLEAR DATA IN SETTINGS .
SOLUTION FOR CONSTANT FC, FOUND BY JASSI32 If after reboot it constant FC 
1.  Go to system/app and install it from system/app 
2. Then delete apk from system/app 
3. Reboot WORKS 100%

The TWICS-Addon-Pack adds a bunch of stock-apps that where ported by xda-members, some SGS3 feeling with (system)-sounds and icons directly ripped from leaked frameworkres.apk/systemui.apk/systemapps of the SGS3 ROM and many more features to your phone.
You can flash it over every CM9-nightly, SlimIcs or AOKP-Build...day by day  


Maybe someone here is curious enough to try it. The installation script creates a "backup" zip on your sd, in case you don't like it, or anything went wrong. You can revert everything by flashing the zip (universal flasher folder on internal sd)

The addon-pack comes with sgs3 theme, sounds, launcher, app store, weather widget and more extras. See original thread for more info
Consider: It's meant only for CM9-nightlies or AOKP-builds. So choose the corresponding zip. Don't try to flash the one for Galaxy Nexus! :P

Instructions:
1. Install your ROM like you do it always (wipe cache/dalvik, flash nightly, flash gapps, flash the kernel of your choice...I persnonally recommend mnics, then boot the phone) 2. Reboot to recovery and flash TWICS-CM9-Nightly-Addon and reboot.
Little Update. I merged both packs. No extra AOKP-Version is required anymore. If you already flashed 1.5 (cm9) you don't need to flash 1.5.1. [FIX][ICS][Stock ROMs and derivates][31/05]Fixed CRT-Off flicker bug; added CRT-On

As reported in multiple places on the forum, stock ICS ROMs do not come with the CRT-Off effect available, although the code is there and lots of existing mods already exist to be able to turn it on.
The implementation, however, contains a glitch and every once in a while the full screen image will blink right after the beam collapses.

I have managed to apply the fix to the Sammy's custom library that implements this, even though the source code is not available. (this wouldn't be possible without the good folks on CM9, though!).
The discussion that lead to this work can be found here, on the awesome JKay mod. BTW, if this fix is useful to you, do me a favor a buy that man's Deluxe app (it's really a favor you're doing to yourself, not me ).

For any ROM cookers, MOD developers, or end-users, I leave the patched file and a few instructions to make sure the provided lib only changes the flicker part. This is because I have performed the changes on the file shipped on XWLP9, and if other different files exist in other builds, it's more convenient to apply the fix there instead of using the lib from a different ROM and possibly lose some other improvements or fixes applied by Samsung.

Please check the Readme file in the archive for instructions on what to confirm and how to apply the change, and let me know if there's any question or if you have a different base version.


EDIT:
The library has been updated to handle CRT-On effect as well. You can safely replace it with the attached version, although you'll need to have a mod to activate the CRT-On effect as well.
If you want to install a standalone patch to activate this, have a look at this post and follow the instructions.


Technical notes
The code has been revised to display 8 frames when turning on - as opposed to 24 when turning off - in order to have a faster response. This is however still dependent on the time taken by the kernel to wake the CPU, before drawing can begin (currently about 1s). This delay will not happen if you don't wait long enough after turning off, as the CPU will not enter deep sleep.

Changes from Kamma have also been applied, in order to have a similar effect when turning On - "normal" screen colors instead of random color spikes. This might be barely noticeable due to the animation speed.

Known issue: if the screen is turned off when watching a video on the Youtube app, when turning back on with the effect enabled this will freeze the screen and originate a reboot after a few seconds. Still pending to know if it also happens with CM9 on SGS2.

[HOW TO] Enable auto-rotating Calling Screen [ICS] [UPDATED 12 JUN 2012]

I wanted to share with YOU, users and rom developers.

This is a little different, and simpler, than the one proposed by Pawtip for gingerbread roms one year ago.

What I did:
I looked for mIsDockConnected:Z command and then erase the condition to make enable it, making it active by default for normal callings.

Why you looked for mIsDockConnected:Z command?
Because if dock is connected you have the chance to make landscape callings I guess

How to:

-Decompile Phone.apk and go to smali/com/android/phone/InCallScreen.smali

-Open this smali file with a text editor and look for

HOW TO CHANGE .APK ICON USING APK MANAGER.

Many people have asked how to change icons of apps in app drawer,once it was my question too,and I searched every corner of xda to find a thread explaining me that but it was of no avail even though i FOUND one but it didn't work on my sgs2.Therefore,I decided to help everybody who is having the same problem including me.So I brought you the easiest 'n simplest way to change the icons,it's lenghty as many would call it but once you get the hang of it,you'll be changing the icons of 'n on.


JUST FOLLOW THE STEP BY STEP GUIDE;

1. Copy Settings.apk in the folder called "place-apk-here-for-modding"
2. Start the "Script.bat"
3. Choose point 22 "Set current Project"
4. Choose your app you want to extract
5. Choose point 1 "Extract apk"
6. Go to the folder called "Projects" 7. Choose your app you just have extracted
8. Choose the folder called "res"
9. Look in the folders where the icon is.
10. Change the icon but be sure it have the same size ("mdpi: 48x48" hdpi: 72x72" xdpi: 96x96")
11. Go back to script windows or start script.bat again
12. Choose point 22 "Set current Project" again
13. Choose point 3 "Zip apk"
14. Choose point 12 "sign apk"
15. Go back to the folder "place-apk-here-for-modding" now should have a apk here that is called signed"NameOfYourApp"
16. Copy it to your Sd card and install it on your device.

BOOTANIMATION - Original Standard Stock Animation Galaxy S 2

Some Custom Kernels replace the original Bootanimation because Custom Bootanimation Support. So here is the Original as a Encoded Zip-Version.
